Jayhawk agency on Aging, inc. advocates on aging issues, builds community partnerships and implements programs within Shawnee, Jefferson, and Douglas counties to help seniors live independent and dignified lives.

Our Vision

Three county planning and service area, rural and urban, whereby community based long term services, and supports ensure life-long communities

Nutrition Programs 

CHAMPSS (Choosing Healthy Appetizing Meal Plan Solutions for Seniors) allows those age 60 and older to choose from different entrees and eat at their convenience seven days a week at CHAMPSS locations throughout Shawnee, Jefferson, and Douglas counties. 

In-Home Services

Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging has numerous resources for In Home Services. In home services assist individuals with daily living tasks under attendant care and homemaker services. Other services such as personal emergency response and medication reminder are also considered in home services.

Out Reach and Legal Services

Provides information and referral services to services and supports for customers of all income levels with physical disabilities, traumatic brain injury, or persons age 60 or older and caregivers of persons age 60 or older.  Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging also provides funding for legal services.

JAAA makes a difference in the lives of seniors and their caregivers. Many of JAAA’s services allow seniors to continue living in their homes and remain safe and independent for as long as possible. By donating to JAAA you can help seniors who need dental cleanings, supplies or medical equipment they cannot afford, or provide respite care to a caregiver in need of a break.
